Amy Peterson is President of District 19, Clarion/Elk/Forest/Jefferson/McKean/Venango/Warren Counties. She belongs to Frances Sherman VFW Auxiliary, Post 212, in Bradford, PA. She has been a member of our organization for 30+ years, joining under the eligibility of her father, David Maben, who served in the US Army during the Korean War. Amy is an Office Manager in a hometown machine shop, lives with her husband, Mark, who is a truckdriver. Her son, Jordan works at UPS & resides in Bradford with his girlfriend, Haley. Her son, Harley served in the PA National Guard and resides in Illinois with his girlfriend, Kennedy.
Amy’s hobbies include motorcycle riding, traveling, volunteering, cooking, wine/beer tasting, and campfires. She grew up in the VFW family as she quickly realized exactly what the organization stands for and became very involved. "I love our Veterans, love to listen to their stories & see them smile!” Her favorite Auxiliary Programs are Scholarships and Youth Activities. She loves sharing patriotism and the Auxiliary values with the future leaders of our country. National Home has become another of her favorites! "It's heartwarming to see the families benefit from the genuine dedication from staff and volunteers." She further reports, "Hands-down FAVORITE activity is visiting our hospitals and shut-ins, delivering hot meals and joyful gifts to them whenever possible." BTW--Membership is growing on her, as she says, "Get Your Ask On!"
