Kristin DiGiacomo is President of District 29, Allegheny
County. She is a life member of West View VFW Auxiliary, Post 2754, in West View,
PA. She joined our organization, in 2002, under the eligibility of her
grandfather, James Banze, who was in the US Army and is a Korean War Veteran. Kristin’s
family consists of her parents, Steve and Kathy; her brother, his wife and her
niece, Hoss, Jenn and Josie Mae; and her son, Aidan (AJ). In her spare time,
Kristin enjoys watching her son play sports, coaching youth sports, camping, fishing, and keeping busy. When she was
growing up, Kristin remembers her grandmother, Joan Banze, was extremely active
in the VFW Auxiliary. She got Kristin involved at the age of 12, in the Junior
Girls Unit. "I am proud to say that I’m a Past State Jr. Girls President, and I’ve
been involved ever since.” One of her
favorite things to do is to march in the local parades, representing the VFW
Auxiliary. She loves seeing the community members and the kids. Kristin wants
everyone to know, "I love this organization, what we do and what we stand for.
Our Veterans and their families will always be very near and dear to my heart, and
I hope to continue serving my District, our Veterans, their families and the
Department to the absolute best of my ability.”
